A game that speaks for itself - no complicated rules. Its goal..........getting into heaven.
To reach this goal, you have to make the most of your talents and that means gathering as many Hailmaries as possible. (This is the game's currency).
There are two types of players: Bishops and Pilgrims, and in some situations different rules apply to the two categories!
In the course of the game, you buy cities with Catholic inhabitants. If exploited cleverly, they will generate value for the player.
Once you own all of the cities in a series, you can increase their revenue by establishing parishes in them.
You can have a Deacon (green), Priest (orange) or Cardinal (purple) manage each of your parishes; you buy these from the Vatican Bank.
That way, you will collect as much religious product from the area as possible.
The game contains exciting decision moments:
- Will you choose to sacrifice part of your net worth for a chance to get into heaven?
- Would you rather just collect wealth and win by exploiting your fellow players?
- Do you gloat about the Bishop facing severe punishment for abuse, hypocrisy or exploitation?
- Will you be confronted with the weird rules the Church imposes on people to facilitate its own growth, by interfering in how they use their private parts?
- What is it like to go to hell, and how do you get out? You can even smell hell in the game.
- You can set your playing time beforehand, so it's easy to plan.
- No complicated rules: anyone can start to play without preparation and it's quite straightforward.
